The Wheelbarrow is a melee unit from the Farmer faction. They are equipped with a fast-moving cart as well as the Apple Throw and the Pitchfork. |
Characteristics[]
The Wheelbarrow is an especially tough and and moderately powerful unit that consists of three sub-units: the Traveller, the Apple Thrower and the Farmer. The Traveller is the driver of the Wheelbarrow, steering the cart with Apple Thrower and Farmer riding on top. It will ram and run over enemy units whilst the Apple Thrower throws apples and the Farmer stabs any enemy units up close. The cart is a unit in itself and can be destroyed; that said, it has an especially high health and extremely fast speed, capable of outrunning most units in the game. Coming with a really expensive but among the side of the price, they are considered the poor person's cavalry.
In combat, the Wheelbarrow running over units deal extremely low damage; however, combining the Farmer and the Apple Thrower's attacks makes it capable to deal moderately high damage. Being a unit on itself, it will get targeted by enemy units; its wheel will pop off when destroyed. The driver and riders have separate health, and will get off the the Wheelbarrow if it is destroyed. It can also be destroyed if the Traveller took a sharp turn and tipped the Wheelbarrow over, forcing them all to get off and fight on foot. In addition, the riders may get killed in action, leaving the Traveller and the Wheelbarrow on their own, serving not much than a speedy distraction. On the other hand, if the Traveller is killed, the Wheelbarrow will destroy itself, leaving the Apple Thrower and the Farmer on foot.
Appearance[]
The Wheelbarrow is a vehicle with a single wheel at the front with two supporting legs and two handles at the rear. It has a tray that is made out of wooden planks bolted together to form a rectangular shape; the tray is crudely painted with the team's color and filled with hay. The handles, legs and braces are also made out of wood, bolted to the tray. The wheel is made out of a cut log, with its center bolted to the brace. Sitting on the Wheelbarrow is two riders, the Farmer at the front and the Apple Thrower at behind. At the rear end of it is the Traveller, grabbing its two handles.

Usage[]
Just like a Chariot or Jouster, the Wheelbarrow is very effective at disrupting formations (like phalanx) and distracting. It can be considered worse than the Jouster at fighting as the jouster does much more damage, but slightly better at distraction due to having three units on it. When the wheelbarrow breaks, these three units will not last long due to their low HP and rather lackluster weaponry.
Encounters[]
The Wheelbarrow often serves as the cavalry of the Farmer faction, and will typically be the first unit to clash with yours. They can appear as the main force or the distraction.

Changelog[]
- Released
- Added more knockback on enemy units for the Wheelbarrow
Unit Possession[]
Each unit in the wheelbarrow can be individually possessed. The wheelbarrow cannot be stopped while possessed, only steered. If you possess the driver you can defeat many units by driving around that unit while the apple thrower throws apples at it doing decent damage.
