Overview: What's TABS?

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (T.A.B.S for short) is the most accurate simulation of war and military strategy to date. Joking aside, this game is described as "a physics based battle simulator which lets you pit wacky waving armies against each other". It allows you to pit units of various eras (ranging from cavemen, to Vikings, to Napoleonic troops, to the 2016 US election) against each other in open combat, with humor resulting from the game's physics engine, causing units to go flying from impacts, falling over each other, and creating a generally-pretty mess as the battle rages on. There is a huge variety of units to choose from, ranging from the simple Peasant, to Japanese Samurai or even some comical units, like Trump or Hillary, each unit have it own unique weapon and mechanic. There is some more information here.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you questions are not answered here, please contact Our Staff, or contact Landfall here.

When will it be released?

Soon! Landfall has stated that the official release date is TBD.

Will there be an update to the Open Alpha?

No. Landfall stated that they won't make an update, as this version of the game is full of bugs, glitches, and unfinished systems. The Full Game is coming early 2018.

How can I get the Closed Alpha?

You can't (unless you pirate - which is illegal!). The Closed Alpha was only made available to certain closed testers who were decided before the release of the Open Alpha and YouTubers with over 100,000 subscribers or in contact with Landfall.

How much will the full version of TABS cost?

TABS will cost around $15-$20.

Will TABS be available for Console as well as PC?

Landfall is planning on releasing it for consoles, and has hinted multiple times that it could have a mobile version. However, Landfall has also stated that development for the PC/Mac version takes priority.

Will I be able to create my own unitsmaps, etc?

Yes, in the full game Landfall is planning on implementing Steam Workshop for PC players, so if you know how, you will be able to make modifications to your own game, such as unique units, maps and etc.

Will there be DLCs or updates?

Yes, Landfall is planning on DLCs and updates, and one of them is possibly to re implement the Neon Faction, which will be removed.

Why has the game taken so long to come out?

This is a complicated question that comes in multiple parts, but the short answer is we don't know for sure, but from what we can tell it is due to multiple factors. (Note this is our speculation) One of these factors is that Landfall has been too ambitious in production trying to add as many units as possible to the base game, and has switched animation systems at least once, maybe twice implementing changes that were needed but dragged out creation too long. A second reason is other projects, for example they spent 9 months on Tabs development that stalled due to the creation of stick fight and Landfall has only got back to Tabs recently as they keep updating stick fight. A final reason is that all the hype has died, now don't get us wrong their is still hype, but it has reduced significantly as this game became another flavor of the year game and within 1 year of the first version of the game being released 90% of the hype was lost and went over to ultimate epic battle simulator leaving Tabs in the dust. Basically they waited to long to release the game and this killed all the hype.
