The Taekwondo is a Secret melee unit from the Dynasty faction. They are equipped with the Taekwondo Kick. |
Location[]
The Taekwondo unit can be unlocked on the Dynasty map. From the starting camera position a small red foot can be found underwater below the right-middle bridge in a small clump of reeds. |
Characteristics[]
The Taekwondo attack by delivering a kick to enemy units they encounter, often flinging them away. Serving as their main method of attack, their kicks are the one of most powerful strikes of any units in-game. Their kicks are also the quickest to perform with the shortest cooldown period.
While waiting for the Taekwondo Kick's cooldown, the Taekwondo will punch their enemies instead. Unlike their deadly footwork however, their prowess with fisticuffs are much weaker.
Although dangerous in melee, the Taekwondo lacks defense from attacks and their hitpoints are slightly above average at best.
Appearance[]
The unit appears as a Wobbler in robes with a black belt and hairband in their hair.

Usage[]
Taekwondo's are fast hitters and do a fair amount of damage, and are good at dealing with light units. They are capable of sending enemy Units flying away, and in groups can take down weaker armies. They are weak to hordes though, so beware. Despite their low health, the taekwondo can win the one-on-one fights with the Chieftain despite their superior attack speed.
The Taekwondo works best in quick engagements against small groups of units with low to average health. Any protracted fights against high-health or large units are unfavorable.
Possession[]
While the Taekwondo is generally a glass melee cannon, the action of actively possessing the Taekwondo can actually lead to more favorable results for their team. Combined with their powerful kicks, the Taekwondo’s punches can be used for other purposes other than damage. For example, as one redditor found out, it is possible for the punches to be repurposed for dodging, as the wild swings of the fist can actually cause surprisingly fluid movements that can allow for evasive maneuvers and even the occasional flashy spin kick. However. There is an inevitable weakness here, as not only must one be extremely careful and timed in the movements, but it is also recommended not to try to deal with tankier Units, especially those with more range like Vlad or even the King.
Encounters[]
This unit is encountered in the Wild West (Campaign). |

Trivia[]
- The Taekwondo has one of the most powerful melee attacks, capable of "one-shotting" most weaker units.
- Occasionally, the Taekwondo unit will kick the enemy unit in the crotch, launching them into the air.
- The Taekwondo can occasionally kill the Shogun and Lady Red Jade in 1v1, and in some rare cases, even a Jarl.
- Another thing is that the two formers can be dealt with extremely quickly if groups of Taekwondos are used.
- If the Taekwondo kicks the Minotaur while charging, it has a slight chance that, if it kicks in the right spot, will actually one-shot the Minotaur.
- The Taekwondo used to share the same voice as the Monk.
- Taekwondo is a relatively recent martial art, having been invented in the 1940s.
- With this being TABS, the Taekwondo lacks the necessary fighting stance and actual technique, so how exactly it got its black belt in the first place is unknown.
