The Sensei is a Secret ranged unit from the Dynasty faction. They are equipped with Sensei Shuriken Throws. |
Location[]
The Sensei cannot be used in Sandbox or the campaign before it is found since it is a secret Unit. The player should go to the Dynasty map in Sandbox (or play a Campaign level taking place in the Dynasty map) and look at the top of the roof of the building. Some shurikens can be found there. The shurikens can be hard to see since they are on the red/blue line; nonetheless, look at them until they start glowing and eventually burst. When the shurikens burst, you will unlock it. |
Characteristics[]
The Sensei is a Secret ranged unit in Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. It will throw up to 3 Sensei Shurikens per hand, each one with low damage but a lot of knockback, and will deliver these out as faster than the usual Ninja. Another thing is that if a Unit gets close to it (unless its an ally) then it will either dash backwards, or maybe use its Shuriken Tempest, spitting out ninja stars in 3 rows and deflecting around 50 projectiles for a limited time. However, it's rather costly, and despite being so, they're still a glass cannon, so keep them protected and it'll protect you and your team. But if its your opponent, it's recommended you use something like the Cannon, or even an Archer far away, as while it may have quite the range, they can't reach that far, so use this and its low HP to your advantage.
Appearance[]
Sensei wear some sort of cloth armor and a helmet. It wears spiked armor on their forearms and holds one shuriken per hand that are significantly different from a normal Ninja's, spinning when thrown and overall having far more points.
Unit Voice[]
Usage[]
Some players tend to use a regular Ninjas instead in certain situations. The main difference between these and regular Ninjas are that Ninjas have a significantly lower cost and have less shuriken output. A group of Ninjas can be better than one Sensei if you are on a tight budget. Nonetheless, the Sensei is a versatile unit, being able to take down tough and numerous enemies.
The shurikens have a knockback effect, slowing the progress of melee units or knocking ranged units off balance. While each shuriken doesn't do much damage, the Sensei makes up for it with the sheer number of them it can throw. Sensei may be a good way to combat groups of Samurai, as their attack rate can overwhelm their projectile deflecting ability. The Sensei should be used in small numbers, as you don't need many of them to take down enemies.
After the Unit Creator beta update, it has gained the ability to use the Shuriken Tempest, allowing them to throw overwhelming amounts of shurikens in one volley, that even Ice Giant can't get close because the sheer amount of shurikens, and which activates when units get too close to them. It appears as a tornado/sphere of wind, which also keeps units from getting too close and, as an added bonus, blocks projectiles.
Using Cheerleader abilities on the Sensei results in the attack speed being raised even further, allowing them to hover around, going incredibly fast. If there are enough cheerleaders, It will attack so quickly it will appear as if it is only standing still, while still attacking at an insanely fast rate, and they will become a Tornado. However, when in its tornado form, they will lift due of their light weight and will die of fall damage. Sensei can also be very effective if combined with Ullr.
Trivia[]
- The Sensei used to be named the Ninja Master.
- It is one of the 6 secret units dedicated to the Dynasty faction.
- Its range is the double of that of a normal Ninja.
- Sensei (先生) when translated in Japanese means "one who comes before", often used to refer to a teacher. Therefore, one could consider it the Dynasty ranged version of The Teacher.
- Sensei can also become a tornado when put with cheerleaders, as large as Mace Spinner's.
- One thing to note is that they will also hover a considerable distance, and may die from the fall; considering this, it is best not to make it a tornado.
- Initially on the UC update , when the Sensei did its new ability, it would fly away and kill themself due the ninja stars hitting them while it is throwing them.
- Sensei can defeat the Skeleton Giant, Samurai Giant and Tree Giant though struggles against the Ice Giant due to its range being equal to the Ice Breath’s radius; this, combined with the Sensei’s low health, allows the Ice Giant to easily freeze the Sensei to death, and due to its extremely heavy weight, is almost immune to the shurikens' knockback.
- Nonetheless, it can counter the Tree Giant via their knockback, attack speed, and Shuriken Tempest.
- A single Sensei has the same attack speed of 5 Ninjas and double the range.
- They, alongside the Dark Peasant, Super Peasant, Witch, and the Present Elf, are not available to the Nintendo Switch version of TABS.
- This is probably because of performance issues.
- It used to cost 3000 at the time of its initial release.
