Units are the low polygon, wavy-armed warriors in TABS. They are colored to their team (red or blue), save for their unique headgear, clothing, weapons, and other items at times. Nearly every unit has its own set of abilities which it can use. Each unit can be either a melee, a support, or a ranged unit.
They have a relatively simple AI system. Although AI is considered quite "basic" in the Open and Closed Alpha, Landfall has redeveloped and innovated their AI for the Early Access release of TABS. The "New" AI has been showcased in the Closed Beta. They are special soldiers, whom you place before on the map before battle.
Each Unit has their own unique AI which determines its behavior in combat. Units with the melee unit movement type will approach their targets until they within the their weapon's range, and will back up to its maximum range when their targets get too close; units with the ranged unit movement type will also approach their targets until they are within their weapon's range, but will not back up when their targets are too close.
Certain units have abilities to dodge or parry, while others can charge into melee range. These abilities and behaviours should be considered when selecting and deploying your units, as they can have a major impact on the game. Currently, units are controllable, via unit possession.
Size
Many units come in different sizes, some are just slightly taller than the average, while others can be literal giants. Size is not just for show either, as it can alter the unit's stats such as speed, weight and more importantly, hitpoints - the amount of damage they could take before they die.
Hitpoints adhere to a quadratic scaling formula based on the unit's size. To illustrate, when a unit possesses 100 hitpoints and a size of 2.00x, its practical hitpoints can be determined using the formula: Practical Hitpoints = (Health) x (Size²), resulting in 400 (100 x 2.00²). This formula applies consistently when adjusting size and hitpoints in both directions.

Unit Weight
Unit weight affects the unit's resistance against knockback from enemy attacks. Depending on their role, units will have their weight assigned to show their strength. For example, a King has a high unit weight (12.00x) to make them seem strong, being unstaggered by simple arrows while a Squire has normal unit weight (1.00x) to make them squishy and expendable. The lightness of the unit is also what makes the ragdolls fun.
Other than knockback resistance, unit weight has little effect in gameplay. It does not affect unit health or how fast the unit will fall. Although said to increase the strength of units to let them carry heavier weapons in the Unit Creator, all weapons seems to have the same weight after Full Release. Unit weight also has a much less impact on recoil resistance since then. Extremely high weight however makes units unable to hit enemies with their melee weapons.
Googly Eyes
Units will always have googly eyes as long as they remain set to on in the options menu. Units also get X's on their eyes (X X) when they are dead, with some units they will show (> <) on their face when damaged, and normally they blink (- -) at random intervals. All Units with eyes or other things in TABS can have variation, like Clams from the CLAMS person, or Crows from the Scarecrow. The Snake Archer's bow can also have eye variations.
Random Variation
Units can have minor variations between them that are randomly generated, mostly for aesthetics. Some of the changes include:
Slightly taller/short units.
Slightly higher/lower hitpoints. (Due to the height variation.)
Slightly higher/lower damage. (Depending on the weapon, some are very inconsistent, some are not.)
Slightly faster/slower movement speed.
Units with large/small body parts.
Units with large/small pupils/eyes, sometimes one large/small than the other.
Anywhere between 1 to 23 eyes. 1 is large and centered, 3 to 6 go vertically down the face, 7+ circle around the head in a zigzag. (Rarity increases with the amount of eyes but generally very rare.)
Giant/tiny units (very rare).
Fat/Skinny units (rare).
Two of these variations (depends on the variations).
Factions
Main article: Factions
There are a large amount of units. Each one is placed into one of the several factions that depict different time periods or fantasies- Tribal, Farmer, Medieval, Ancient, Viking, Dynasty, Renaissance, Pirate, Spooky, and more. Each faction has about seven units, typically including a melee infantry unit, a ranged unit, a heavy unit, and always a boss unit. Some factions will also have support or artillery units as well.
Currently there are 139 units in TABS.
List of Units
Note: This is a general overview of the units, each of which has its own page.
*Hitpoints is modified by the unit's size. For the unit's base hitpoints, please refer to their page.
Unlockable Units
Most units are available in Sandbox from the get-go, but a few are locked for use. To unlock such units, the player must be in Free Camera Mode and search around for an item associated with the unit. Once found, the item will start to glow when glanced at, eventually popping to gold dust and unlocking the intended Unit.
With the Legacy Faction the player must find all the weapons on the Legacy map, and with the full release comes the Fantasy Good and Fantasy Evil factions. Both require the player to go to a specific location in order to unlock. The Secret (Faction) is unique in consisting unlockable units from all factions, hidden within most themed maps. Directions to an unlockable unit's location can be found on their respective pages.
Landfall has stated that units' gender is Wobbler.
The reason why units appear female or male is because they have the choice to have female or male characteristics, NOT because they actually are female or male.
Landfall has also stated that the Wobblers breathe through spores where their mouths should be.
Several units are voiced by various YouTubers such as Blitz and BaronVonGames.
It was confirmed that there are plush toys for units.
Units with higher unit weight will wield their weapons lower than usual.
Landfall made an option to get the game when you pre-ordered their game Clustertruck a while ago.
Some units or objects will sink into the ground when killed or destroyed. These include:
